Avid Technology Incorporated has just announced the market launch of the new range of products of Me
That new range was presented in the NAB 2006 last April, and they are already on sale a flexibel range of configurations, even an application of just software that offers portability and the possibility to add an acceleration device if it is needed. All the products of this range are the 2.5 version, that has improved its functions in both platforms and incorporates a wide HD functions and multi-camera compatibility in a real time for Mac Os X (Tiger). Moreover, the new range Media Composer offers intelligent functions for the production process designed specifically for the colaboration in team through an Avid® Interplay™ system, the first nonlinear enviroment system in the world, that will be on the market the third trimester of 2006. Jaime Beedy, post-production supervisor in Karl Productions, a video-producer company in Chicago, makes the following declarations: “ The availability of the programme Media Composer gives a lot of options to us and we are very encouraged due for that. The programme offers all the professional functions we need: HD, functionality for Mac, combined resolutions, motion tracking, keying and moreover, now we can add positions to our systems with acceleration of the hardware in an economic way. We have though in changing to Final Cut Pro, but if we work with some brands, we would have to invest some time, which we don´t have, in the case that there could be some kind of problem. In addition, we have done tests with the beta of Media Composer and we are impressed by the services. Every time we´ve used it, we are amazed with the fact that we¨can work with the best tools in the world in a portable computer. We wouldn´t have never imagined it”.
